Where is the love?

Lately I have thought about the video games that we take for granted. Who does not enjoy a good ole game of solitaire or tetris for that matter? The more I think about it the more I begin to appreciate the basic video games that can help make the airplane flight shorter and the bus ride seem quick. The next time you flip out your phone or whip out your ipod, stop and think just how much you appreciate that video game.

I have been taking a look at the new up and coming PS3 games and the list continues to grow. MLB 08 The Show and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 top the list. These MLB baseball and first person shooter games are about as good as it gets on the PS3. As for third person shooter games, Grand Theft Auto IV and Metal Gear Solid 4 top the list of up and coming games. And if Kill Zone Two will ever get released it will enhance the array of first person shooter games for PS3 gamers. All this talk of video games is making me want to head downstairs for some PS3 action.

Video Gaming Future

The latest craze in sports fans is video game simulation. They set up the game to watch the computer play itself to help predict the game. ESPN has even presented their video game predictions on Sports Center. From the Super Bowl to the Daytona 500, they may not have been right in their predictions, but it was interesting to see the simulation. Maybe one day they will be real.

1)Call of Duty 4: I may not be the best at this game, but when I get on a roll watch out in this shooting game

2)Madden 08: Best Football game period. I enjoy the highlight stick complete with the truck stick action

3) Rock Band: From drums to guitar to microphone you can do it all on this game

4)NBA 2K8: This series is on the rise, and in my opinion leapfrogged NBA live for the best basketball game

5)MLB 98: My favorite baseball game because the cheat codes make it fun to do things never thought possible

6)James Bond the World is Not Enough: This shooting game allowed you to control your missile in flight so you could hit your opponent with even more accuracy

7)Burnout Revenge: A racing game that allows you to explode your car in mid air, just before you wreck

8)Frogger: This classic video game never goes out of style and can even challenge the best of video gamers

9)NFL Blitz: This game was similar to the NFL extreme league where you could lay a player out even after the whistle was blown

10) Star Wars Masters of Teras Kasi: This light saber battle game is my all time favorite fighting game with the ability to be Darth Vador and throw your light saber across the screen, hit your opponent, then have it return straight to your hand makes this game awesome

From WII to XBox360 to PS3. I have played each one of these systems in my video game career and have come to the conclusion that PS3 rules them all. The ability to tilt the controller gives it the upper hand to the XBox360. The games may be the same, but when you can shoot a free throw by a simple flip of the wrist, the PS3 wins that battle. As for the WII, the PS3 has better control over the game play. The button layout allows you to play a wider variety of games. And when you are not in the mood for video games, you can just pop in a Blue-Ray Disc and enjoy the highest quality movie around. I am not going to say I did not enjoy playing WII or XBox360, but I will take a PS3 over those two systems any day.
